On 1 and 2 November 2019, the Port of Setubal received for the first time the cruise ship, Le Lyrial, of French shipowner Ponant. The city was the departing point for an ocean trip to Montevideu, Uruguay.

The passengers, who boarded the ship were offered a courtesy glass of muscatel wine, accompanied with strips of orange zest, two of the most typical delicacies of the city. In the session information was provided about the unique heritage that makes Setubal a tourism destination of excellence. The initiative was organized by Setubal City Hall, with the support of Associação da Baía de Setúbal.
